Ian has spent over 30 years involved in consultancy and business development. Ian built his own software company, Servicepower Technologies Plc and took it public on the London Stock Exchange in 2000. Ian retired from the company in 2008 to sail round the world but the recession put a stop to that plan!
Originally qualified as a professional electrical engineer in the UK, he now brings those engineering skills to the Coachella Valley. He has been obsessed with efficiency and using our planet’s scarce resources effectively, while saving money for his clients throughout his career.
Ian believes that the Coachella Valley offers a unique opportunity to use renewable energy technology to reduce his client’s utility bills and due to creative leasing costs, achieve these benefits at minimal risk and cost to the client.

Ian has worked for one of the largest energy efficiency companies in California and has designed over 80 commercial and residential systems.
Ian is a UK citizen with a Green Card. He has two adult children, James and Lucy, James is a Civil engineer in the UK and Lucy is a Barrister who has taken maternity leave and is sailing the East coast of America "nurturing" his grandson Henry. Ian's children are a source of great pride. His major love is sailing and he has had the privilege of being Executive Director of the US Naval Sailing Foundation. One of the most memorable events of his sailing career was delivering a 42 foot sailboat from the Florida Keys to Belize. Ian dreams of retiring with his fiancée, Thea, to run a bed and breakfast in either Greece, Puerto Rico or Belize.
